When you’re not a natural blonde – like myself – it can be a struggle to keep your blonde looking fresh and to keep those annoying yellow tinged out of your hair.
There are a combination of ways to battle brassy blonde hair, here are some of my favourites:
1. Purple Shampoo & Conditioner
Using a purple shampoo and conditioner set when you wash your hair will ensure that all brassy and yellow tones are kept at bay! I personally like the Pro:Voke Touch Of Silver range.
2. Toning Mousse
This is a quick fix which is my go-to if I want a quick toning solution to banish any brassiness. Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Toner Mousse in Icy Platinum does just that and lasts for 3 washes. Wet your hair and towel dry it so it’s only slightly damp, not soaking. Run the mousse through your hair and leave for 5 minutes, it’s as simple as that!
3. Be kind to your hair!
Blondes always look best with healthy hair. Be sure to treat your hair well keeping heat and styling products to a minimum and getting regular trims to keep your colour looking fresh.
Tip: I always wash my hair with cold water, no matter how unbearable it might be! Hot water can open the hair shaft leaving you with fluffy hair which can look dried out and frizzy. Wash your hair with cold water -even better, do this after a moisturing hair mask – to keep your hair looking smooth and shiny.
